4 year olds through 6th Grade - We will be learning about our biblical ancestors in faith in all sorts of creative ways, with loving teachers and helpers. In the Fellowship Hall.
Confirmation Group (Grades 7-9) – Current Topic: Jesus – What does the gift of Jesus mean to us? In January: Holy Communion – Bread for life, Food for the world. In the Jr. High room upstairs with Kim Campbell.
High School Group (Grades 10-12) - Begin learning about your own faith alongside the faiths of our neighbors. Some weeks we will make Sunday morning visits to those neighbors’ places of worship. In the high school room, upstairs with Cathy Knock

Dream-Think-Be-Do - Begin with a weekly intro disc of current thinkers and theologians. Grab a snack at fellowship time after worship, schmooze a bit, and come on down. In the Emmanuel library, downstairs, with Prof. Kurt Queller

…REMINDER! – Starting in January, ELCW “Work Day’s” and Men’s Breakfast will resume their normal schedule of the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month.
... ELCA World Hunger Matches Funds! - Between now and Dec. 31, ELCA World Hunger will match dollar for dollar, your gift to help fight world hunger, up to $250,000.
Here is what you do: prayerfully decide on an amount you wish to contribute to help fight world hunger, place it in the offering, write checks payable to Emmanuel but write World Hunger in the memo line. All offerings to World Hunger will be combined and mailed in by the Dec. 31 deadline for matching funds.
… Needed: Bread makers. Volunteers are needed to make bread for communion. The recipe will be provided; a batch can be made and put into the freezer in the basement. One batch will usually last 4-6 weeks. Please contact Gwen Mitchell at gwenm@uidaho.edu if you are willing to be asked to make communion bread.
…Please help with renovations to our Preschool Rooms! - We need a total of 133 donations of $22 to pay for the 133 sq yards of carpet. Donate and we will write your name on the back of the carpet! Donations have been coming in and we still need some more. Work has begun and will continue over Christmas break. Contact Kim Campbell with questions.
... Best Selling 'Stones to Schools' Author to Speak January 26 - Greg Mortenson, author of "Stones to Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan," will speak at WSU on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 7:30 PM, in Beasley Coliseum. WSU students may attend the lecture at no charge by showing their student IDs at the door. Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Beasley Coliseum ticket office, or through TicketsWest outlets online or by phone , 10AM-2PM, M-F. Tickets purchased in advance at the Beasley ticket office will cost $5 each for non-WSU students and children, and $10 each for all others. Tickets purchased at the door on the evening of the lecture will have a $3 surcharge.
… Become a “Link”- The ELC Outreach Mission Group is forming a Prayer Chain. There is information and a sign-up sheet in this issue of the Experience. You can also find extra sign-up sheets in the Narthex. Please consider being a “link” in this important chain! Contact the Church Office (882-3915) with questions on how to participate.
